Job Summary:
The Chain Restaurant Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment and technology systems in multiple restaurant locations. This includes kitchen appliances, HVAC systems, POS (Point of Sale) systems, and other electronic equipment. The technician ensures that all equipment is functioning correctly and safely, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Installation and Setup:
• Install new kitchen and restaurant equipment.
• Set up and configure POS systems and other electronic devices.
• Maintenance:
• Perform regular maintenance on kitchen appliances, HVAC systems, and other equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures.
• Inspect equipment to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
• Repairs:
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment.
• Replace or repair defective parts, using hand tools and other necessary equipment.
• Ensure all repairs are completed in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Technical Support:
• Provide technical support to restaurant staff regarding the use of equipment.
• Train staff on proper usage and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
• Documentation:
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Document all services performed, including parts used and labor hours.
• Compliance:
• Ensure all equipment complies with safety and health regulations.
• Stay updated on industry standards and regulations related to restaurant equipment and technology.
• Communication:
• Communicate effectively with restaurant managers and staff about equipment status and repairs.
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs or parts replacement when necessary.
Qualifications:
• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience:
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
• Experience with kitchen appliances, HVAC systems, and POS systems is highly desirable.
