Position Summary

Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) professionals provides advisory services including Accounting and regulatory support for accounting change and special matters; accounting processes and controls support.

Commodities Markets (CM) is a specialization within FAAS, focused on clients active in trading gas, power, oil, metals, agriculture, chemical and related products. Our clients include:

• Global trading houses specializing in trading commodities

• Trading divisions of large conglomerates, consumer goods and industrial companies buying and selling commodities

• Financial trading and broking companies

• Industry bodies and infrastructure providers in the sector

We are looking for an experienced professional to join EY FAAS team to help drive growth and manage delivery teams, bring subject matter expertise around Commodity Market to our FAAS services.

The manager should be competent to manage a portfolio of clients and be responsible for the timeliness and quality of the work as per EY Global Standards for our FAAS team. While the Manager will be based out of our Gurugram or Bengaluru or Mumbai offices, the individual will be responsible for supporting EY practices and clients across the Global Market. Also, the individual will be required to travel to other countries (short-term) for executing the client engagements.

Primary Responsibilities

As a Manager, you will engage with clients, bringing them benefit from our insights, creativity and energy. Together with local leadership, leveraging FAAS- and firm-wide pool of people as well as global CM specialists to execute the following FAAS solutions using Global service delivery framework:

• Delivering engagements through understanding the current state of operations through interviews and review of prior documentation including review of the current processes, systems, information flow and controls.
• Gathering insights/industry practices and comparing them to the understanding of the current state to define the gap
• Lead the engagement team and work with the client leaders to develop detailed solution and implementation roadmap to enhance business capabilities and operational effectiveness. Confer with personnel concerned to ensure successful functioning of newly implemented systems or procedures.
• Demonstrate the ability to adapt to new digital technologies and leading digital transformation engagements
• Consistently ensure the delivery of our service offerings to clients and demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge.
• Engage in generating new business connections and development of engagement pipeline
• Ensure effective and efficient project execution according to professional and EY standards, set budgets, and timelines
• Managing the development of new service offerings and go-to-market strategies
• Identifying and exploring opportunities for cross-selling EY services
• Managing other ad-hoc internal initiatives geared towards improving our group\'s efficiency, effectiveness and integration with other service lines
• Developing and mentoring other members of FAAS team

Qualifications, skills and experience

To qualify, candidates must have:

• Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA (US), ACCA (UK) or MBA
• 5-10 years of relevant consulting and/or industry work experience in one of the below

• Front, middle or back-office for a commodity trading operation with exposure to various commodity transaction types (physical and financial) across multiple markets including understanding of risk and/or hedging strategies
• Experience of working with one or more digital technology solutions such as data analytics, RPA, artificial intelligence, and block chain
• Experience with documentation of business requirements for a process/technology solution, knowledge of software development lifecycle, and/or experience with solution design for a business problem
• Current regulatory/ controls landscape associated with Commodity operations, including control and process design, re-design and/or mitigation related activities
• Experience with how commodity markets operate (power, gas, crude, metals and/or refined products) and understanding of transaction lifecycle (front, middle, and back office)
• Exposure to the physical commodities trading sector is essential. This experience may have been gathered through exposure to professional services (audit, consulting, technology, out-sourcing) or operational roles in trading houses or banks.
• Experience with key technology solutions used for commodity trading operations such as Commodity Trading Risk Management systems (e.g., OpenLink, Aspect, EOS, Allegro, etc.)
• Experience in managing a diverse client/ project/ task portfolio is essential
• Great communicator, team player and have ability to establish personal credibility with the client
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong sales, presentation and client management skills
• Strong training and mentoring skills
• Ability to manage a team and to establish credibility as a trusted advisor with clients
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex information in a concise and clear manner
• Strong executive presence and ability to interface with all levels of management (EY and clients)
• Strong project management and organizational experience
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% to 80% of the time
