Operating Extrusion Machinery:
Set up and operate extrusion machines to produce plastic, rubber, or metal products based on specifications.
Monitor the machine during production to ensure smooth operation.
Adjust machine controls to regulate speed, temperature, pressure, and material flow.
Material Preparation:
Prepare raw materials (e.g., resins, powders) and load them into the extruder.
Ensure the correct blend and quantity of materials are used for each production batch.
Product Quality Control:
Inspect and monitor the quality of the extruded products throughout the production process.
Measure the dimensions and appearance of products to ensure they meet specifications (e.g., thickness, color, texture).
Make necessary adjustments to ensure product consistency.
Maintenance of Equipment:
Perform routine maintenance on the extruder and related equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting parts.
Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform minor repairs or adjustments.
Report major equipment issues to the maintenance department.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain production logs and records, including machine settings, material usage, and production output.
Document any machine malfunctions, quality issues, or deviations from the production plan.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Ensure the working area around the extrusion machine is clean and free of hazards.
Comply with industry regulations and company policies regarding health, safety, and environmental standards.
Product Packaging:
Oversee the proper packaging, labeling, and storage of finished products.
Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely and correct shipment of products.
Collaboration with Other Departments:
Work closely with the quality control team to address any product defects or process inefficiencies.
Coordinate with the production planning team to meet deadlines and production targets.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve issues such as material feed problems, irregular extrusions, and overheating.
Identify causes of defective products and take corrective actions.
Training and Supervision (if applicable):
Train junior operators or assistants on machine operation, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Supervise the work of helpers or assistants in loading materials and maintaining the production line.
