Their responsibilities typically include:

Passenger Services: Greeting passengers, checking in passengers for flights, issuing boarding passes, and assisting with seat assignments and special requests. They may also handle passenger inquiries, provide information about flight schedules, delays, and gate changes, and assist passengers with connecting flights.
Baggage Handling: Ensuring that passenger baggage is safely loaded and unloaded from aircraft, using conveyor belts, baggage carts, and other equipment. Ground staff also tag and track baggage, assist passengers with lost or damaged luggage, and coordinate with baggage handling systems to prevent delays or mishandling.
Security Screening: Conducting security checks on passengers and their belongings to ensure compliance with airline and airport security regulations. This may involve operating X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other screening equipment, as well as performing manual inspections when necessary.
Aircraft Servicing: Assisting with aircraft servicing tasks such as refueling, catering, cleaning, and restocking supplies. Ground staff ensure that aircraft are properly prepared for departure, including conducting safety checks, servicing lavatories, and removing waste.
Ramp Operations: Directing aircraft on the tarmac, marshalling them into position, and overseeing the loading and unloading of cargo and passengers. Ground staff also operate ground support equipment such as aircraft tugs, baggage loaders, and pushback tractors to maneuver aircraft safely.
