Job description
Documentation: EXIM managers must be familiar with all the import and export documentation required for different countries and products. This includes bills of lading, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and other permits and licenses.
Team Leadership and Training : Leading and supervising a team of export-import professionals. Providing training and guidance to team members on export-import procedures, regulations, and best practices. Fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Logistics: This involves working with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and other logistics providers to ensure that goods are shipped safely and on time.
Compliance: They are also responsible for ensuring that their company complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
Negotiation: EXIM managers often negotiate contracts with foreign suppliers and customers. They need to be able to understand the needs of both parties and negotiate a mutually beneficial agreement.
Relationship management: EXIM managers build relationships with key stakeholders in the import and export process, such as customs officials, freight forwarders, and foreign suppliers and customers.
