As an experienced Montessori teacher at SmartKidz International School, you will play a pivotal role in fostering the holistic development of young learners using the Montessori method. Your primary responsibility will be to create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can explore, discover, and develop at their own pace.
Responsibilities:
• Montessori Curriculum Implementation:
• Design and implement Montessori-inspired lesson plans and activities that promote independence, exploration, and hands-on learning.
• Create a prepared environment with developmentally appropriate materials and learning areas to support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
• Integrate Montessori principles into all aspects of the curriculum, including practical life skills, sensorial exploration, language development, mathematics, and cultural studies.
• Individualized Instruction and Observation:
• Observe each child's interests, strengths, and areas for growth to tailor instruction and activities to their individual needs and learning styles.
• Foster a child-led approach to learning, allowing children to make choices, explore their interests, and develop self-regulation skills.
• Maintain anecdotal records and observation notes to track children's progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians.
• Classroom Management and Environment:
• Establish and maintain a well-organized, inviting, and safe classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and collaboration.
• Implement positive discipline techniques and conflict resolution strategies to promote a respectful and harmonious classroom community.
• Model grace, courtesy, and respect for others, nurturing a culture of empathy, kindness, and cooperation among students.
• Parent Communication and Engagement:
• Establish open and proactive communication channels with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on children's progress, activities, and milestones.
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss individual student development, goals, and strategies for support at home.
• Collaborate with parents/guardians to reinforce Montessori principles and practices in the home environment.
• Professional Development and Collaboration:
• Stay abreast of current research, trends, and best practices in Montessori education through ongoing professional development opportunities.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to share resources, ideas, and strategies for continuous improvement.
• Participate in school events, committees, and community outreach initiatives to support the school's mission and values.
Basic Qualifications:
• Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (Plus Two/12th grade).
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Empathy: Ability to understand and empathize with the challenges students face.
• Organizational Skills: Effective organization and time management skills.
Computer Skills: Basic proficiency in using computer applications for record-keeping and communicationTop of Form
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Montessori Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Montessori teaching credential from a recognized Montessori training center.
• Proven experience as a Montessori teacher, preferably in a preschool or early childhood setting.
• Deep understanding of Montessori philosophy, principles, and methodology.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
