Discover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world. : Accountability SLFs\xe2\x80\x99 Risk Management framework sets out the over-arching framework for the management of risk across the enterprise. \xe2\x80\x9cExecutive- STR Reporting (GRC)\xe2\x80\x9d is a key role for Sun Life, as they will manage and support the Canada Compliance team in the AML/ ATF Compliance Program, including reporting of Suspicious Transaction report submitted to FINTRAC, AML/ ATF alert reviews, etc. This role will have accountability to complete the following -
  • Gather the transactional data to identify suspicious activities and prepare comprehensive Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR) in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Apply high standards of analysis, accuracy and quality to daily AML/ATF alert reviews and suspicious transaction for Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) submission to FINTRAC.
  • Collaborate with business partners to identify changes to the STR reporting and making amends to internal process.
  • Support the Canada Compliance team in investigation of unusual transactions and make updates to subsequent regulatory filing, as required.
  • Actively participate in various AML/ATF compliance projects and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the Sun Life Canada AML/ATF Program Policies and STR Procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AML/ATF regulatory requirements to provide guidance to business partners regarding related processes and procedures.
  • Identify and articulate continuous improvement opportunities to enhance effectiveness and efficiency around the STR reporting.
Eligibility & Functional Competencies
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk, audit, or related finance role with a focus on AML/ATF compliance in the financial services industry.
  • University degree or equivalent education.
  • Interest in regulatory compliance, specifically AML/ATF legislation and regulation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on risk and associated deadlines.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to effectively take ownership of a task/project.
  • and deliver results in a timely manner while working independently with minimum supervision.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet/Web opensource intelligence research skills

  • Proven relationship management skills including a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with staff of all levels including senior functional Leaders
  • Perform the task to consistently deliver on time and operate in a deadline-focused environment
