The Role Based out of Fluor\'s Sugar Land, Texas office in the United States and reporting to the President , LNG and Pipelines, the Executive Project Director LNG is a critical position for the Energy & Chemicals business line. As a senior project director, he/she will be responsible for performing the essential project management job duties and functions to ensure delivery of overall project objectives by establishing an execution framework on the project that complies with the contract and ensures the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and Fluor profitability. This position performs all project management responsibilities on medium to large d and moderate to high risk engineering, procurement and construction/construction management (EPC/EPCM) LNG projects. This position may be assigned responsibility for a substantial area of an LNG mega project, or overall leadership of an LNG mega project (depending on candidate qualifications). When acting in the role of a Proposal Manager, this position is responsible for managing completion of technical and commercial proposals, providing project planning, means and methods of project execution and strategy, schedule preparation, cost estimating, and Project Execution and Commercial Execution Strategy. Of great importance will be the Executive Project Director\'s commitment to developing high performance project teams, driving a client service excellence and cost competitive culture, and upholding the high ethical standards of Fluor business. The Executive Project Director will be responsible for the following key activities: . Overall responsibility for delivery of his/her projects in line with contractual, financial and client satisfaction targets . Provide Leadership, direction and mentoring to large scale multi-disciplinary teams developing high quality solutions on time, to budget and to customer requirements, in all locations managed by Fluor where project work is being performed . Ensure Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) is emphad throughout all phases of the project and demonstrating operational excellence on topics such as HSE, client excellence, and team performance . Accountable for project commercial and contractual decisions to the limits outlined in the Fluor approval matrix . Ensure full compliance with Fluor prime contract with regard to client reporting, notifications, project system turnover and close-out requirements . Establish the project baseline, and ensure that it is fully documented, updated throughout all project phases, and appropriately communicated to Fluor project team . Taking full ownership for project profit and loss and delivering better than as-sold Project Gross Margin (PGM) . Lead negotiation of contracts for FEED, EPC, as necessary. Delivering these against an agreed commercial strategy . Responsible to ensure projects are executed in accordance with Fluor\'s Operating System Requirements and other similar quality assurance and execution documents . Project performance reporting and metrics as directed by Office, Regional and Business Group Management . Create and maintain strong client relationships which can secure repeat business and expand Fluor\'s footprint . Build meaningful relationships with partners, internal stakeholders and key suppliers . Manager of multi-disciplinary team. Develop a cohesive team and ensures an adequate range of competent resources are employed on the project . Actively engage in the sales process in conjunction with Sales and regional management . Assist in project pursuits as a member of Sales/Operations/Technology teams, formed to identify market and client/project pursuit opportunities and strategies . Work with supporting Organization Managers and Human Resources to ensure adequate resources are maintained to serve the project as well as maintaining an engaged and competitive project workforce and . Collaborate with other senior Executive managers to deliver the office and business line strategic plans. . Domestic and International travel will be required, including the potential for assignments of extended duration. Basic Job Requirements Candidate Profile This position is a very senior and critical role. The Executive Project Director position is a complex role that requires excellent project execution experience, strong client relationship building skills, and good people influencing and leadership skills. The successful candidate must be able to operate and lead in a process driven environment and within a highly-matrixed organization. The candidate shall have strong project management experience and competencies, be fluent in English, have a strong understanding of cultural diversity and will be an experienced business leader with a strong record of driving project and business performance. The successful candidate shall have successfully delivered complex major projects, with practical knowledge of the full project lifecycle- from capture and qualification through to implementation. Equally, he or she will be able to demonstrate the ability to build a commercially focused culture that improves project performance. Ideally the candidate will have 20 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with a minimum 10 years of successful domestic and international LNG Project Management experience, including lump sum EPC LNG projects. This must include field execution leadership with a demonstrated command of construction safety programs. Preferred Qualifications The candidate shall demonstrate excellent experience in the following areas: Accomplished successful execution of one of the following types of projects: . Project manager with ultimate responsibility to deliver a $3 BN LNG LSTK EPC project, or . Area project manager on a large and complex EPC project >$3BN project with delegated responsibility for a > $1 BN sub-project Plus . A significant field assignment including direct-hire construction experience . Experience of brownfield projects and the different challenges associated with tying into existing facilities . Able to demonstrate field construction and home office experience . Domestic and International project execution experience Plus experience in minimum two of the following elements: . Global distributed execution / work share . JV projects or consortium associations . Complex contract / commercial terms (financed project) .
