The production planner is accountable to make daily production scheduling for meeting customer demands, considering production efficiencies and constraints. Also coordinate with agriculture and SCM team for required potato and raw materials supply.Instructions for Responsibilities and Accountabilities: List the major responsibilities and accountabilities of the position in order of importance with most important being first etc. Each item should describe what the person in this position have to accomplish at McCain.   • Produce an achievable and dynamic detailed schedule that takes into account customer requirements, production efficiencies, available capacities, availability of raw material, allergens, management policies, company goals and other resource constraints.
  • Work with supply chain people in S&OP to get timely production volume.
  • Work with line Managers and Supervisors to schedule production that best suits the customers requirements and production efficiencies and utilization.
  • Maximize the manufacturing efficiencies when setting the production plans factoring the production strategies in place.
  • Share monthly potato requirements and work with agriculture team for timely potato supply as per requirements.
  • When there is a supply issue - find a solution. Coordinate with appropriate departments as required to find an acceptable outcome for the business.
  • Ensure that any materials that are late or holding up production for whatever reason, are chased up and followed up until received, and proper escalation process is followed.
  • Maintain Supply Issues log, making sure the information provided is up to date, accurate and timely. When no acceptable outcome can be found -document reasons and present to the production manager.
  • Monitor schedule adherence daily and coordinate with production for corrective action when adherence not met. Conduct root cause analysis and reporting.
  • Measure and report on schedule changes, conduct root cause analysis and provide recommendations to the production manager.
  • Ensure master data is reviewed and updated regularly.
  • Support the NPD process by attending project meetings, setting up new materials and scheduling initial trials and production runs.
  • Work with the production team to develop rework plans to ensure our working capital is kept within targets and communicate rework plans to the production manager.
  • Produce monthly reports for key critical areas of this role (schedule adherence, schedule changes, supply issues)
  • Work with other departments to incorporate any planning changes for critical activities.
  • Write and maintain accurate written procedures for all your processes and functions.
  • Complete other administrative and analytical duties as required.
Other responsibility:
  • Responsible for daily SQDC board walk.
  • Make a safety PPT every month and present it to the plant manager.
  • Automation of production planning and scheduling in SAP.
  • Active member to deployment of MDI x AI in Mehsana plant.
