• Responsibilities of an executive chef include: Delegating tasks, Creating strategies for an orderly flow of operations, Performing special tasks such as preparing specialty dishes, Recipe costing, and Monitoring overall food cost.
• Menu creation Designing menus for daily operations and special events, such as weddings and birthday parties
• Staff management Hiring, training, and motivating kitchen staff, and creating weekly schedules
• Food quality Ensuring food quality is consistently high and that hygiene standards are met
• Inventory and ordering Maintaining inventory and ordering food and supplies from approved vendors
• Budgeting Organizing and monitoring budgets for the kitchen, including food, equipment, and staffing
• Kitchen operations Overseeing the daily activities of the kitchen staff, including sous chefs, cooks, and assistants
• Equipment Ensuring that all kitchen equipment is running efficiently and arranging repairs or new parts when required
• Communication Interacting with customers and participating in meetings with other management staff
