• Baking: Following recipes to make pastries, cookies, and other baked goods

• Menu creation: Developing new recipes and menu items
• Inventory management: Ordering supplies and equipment, and monitoring stock levels
• Client communication: Understanding client requests and making recommendations
• Custom orders: Meeting with clients to discuss custom orders for cakes and other treats
• Training: Training and leading assistant pastry chefs
• Health and safety: Ensuring that everyone in the kitchen follows health and safety procedures
• Kitchen management: Planning and managing the daily operations of the pastry section
• Teamwork: Working with other chefs and sourcing suppliers
