About the team:
At Volvo GTT Emob you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. As a passionate engineer, you will perform Thermal simulation of all electrical distribution components within Power conversion team in Electromobility.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Perform calculation and simulation on the charging unit, HV cables and junction boxes.
To be able to build CFD Models with the required quality.
Virtually verify components/systems/ simulation setups.
Support design teams with technical know-how.
To be proactive in the global network between CAE groups within Vehicle Engineering and Electromobility to share knowledge and method development needs/processes.
To write technical reports and provide results of CFD & Thermal Analysis for input in technical requirements, knowledge management systems, methods guidelines and for technical solutions.
To understand and apply new methods regarding calculation models, algorithms, simulation, and calculation software on projects.
Establish correlation activities to verify the CFD models.
Good exposure to create scripts for pre & post-processing.
Participate in FMEA activity.
Skills Required:
Mandatory Skill Sets:
Numerical simulations 1D/3D knowledge
Experience in tools like Star CCM+, GT suit.
Strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals
Basic understanding of various manufacturing processes, especially regarding plastics, composites, sheet metal, and porous materials
Understanding Material behaviour and mechanics is a must.
Secondary Skill Sets:
Knowledge of testing and validation of components and systems is a plus.
Knowledge of working with MATLAB Simulink, Python scripting (Good to have) & Machine Learning (Good to have)
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor's or Master's in mechanical engineering /Automobile Engineering / Production / Industrial Engineering
Experience within 2- 5 years in the simulation domain.
