The purpose of the ESG Specialist role is to create ESG analytical capabilities, analyze, screen, and monitor portfolio and security level ESG risks and factors, vendor analysis and strategizing the ESG data integration and analytics initiatives. The ESG specialist role is designed to deliver and enhance a superior investment experience to both internal and external stakeholders including our Fund Managers, Sales and marketing and other functional partners as well as our clients.Key Responsibilities/ Duties:

  • Conduct portfolio level ESG analysis and research to assist various internal stakeholders (Investment teams etc.) and provide effective consultation on the ESG risks and factors impacting the portfolio
  • Effectively manage various ESG projects/ initiatives as a business owner in collaboration with other functional teams such as Technology, Legal, Risks, Compliance, and Investments
  • Assist Investment teams in creating/reposition ESG product strategies in collaboration with product and ESG client strategy team by providing ESG data and analytical expertise to help them get market ready
  • Evaluate external ESG data vendors (new or existing) in collaboration with MDS group to ensure that Invesco has access to the required ESG data sets to meet the global demand
  • Provide recommendations on the evolving market and client needs for ESG funds reporting
Work Experience / Knowledge:
  • 5+ years in financial services or other relevant industry
  • Experience in ESG domain and knowledge of various ESG data providers/sources like MSCI, Sustainalytics, CDP etc.
  • Vendor review and evaluation experience
  • Database and SharePoint management
Technical Abilities and/or other Specialized Skills
  • It is essential that the analyst has a very good understanding of business, various asset class & Institutional Clients types
  • Knowledge of investment business, buy-side processes and investment products would be added advantage
  • Aptitude for rapid adaptation to new systems/software
  • Skills in BI Tools, Microsoft Office, MS Access, experience and ability to create content & generate reports and cohesive documentation.

  • Process Documentation- Draft, Document, Maintain, review all documents in detail for smooth performance of activity.
  • Self-starter shows strong self-initiative to meet deliverables and overcome issues.
  • Must also demonstrate flexibility, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn while ensuring that all deadlines are met
  • Must be able to develop and maintain relationships with management, clients and co-workers and work to fully meet and exceed their needs
  • Positive thinking, create energy & the ability to cooperate in a team environment is critical

Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)
  • An MBA/ equivalent masters degree & CFA is preferred plus 5+ years of work experience
Working Conditions:
  • Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures
  • The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is also necessary
  • Normally works on a business required schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment
  • Hours may include evenings and/or weekends and may include any 8 hours in a 24-hour day as the schedule.
