Arun Duggal Centre for ESG Research (CESGR) at IIMA aims to pursue cutting-edge


research, evidence-based advisory, and advocacy with a vision to improve the


Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) performance of Indian


businesses. The Centre envisages playing an active role in developing the institutions


and supporting ecosystem for integrating ESG into the strategic business and


investment decisions of private and public organizations in India.




We are seeking applications for a Research Associate position for the Arun Duggal


Centre for ESG Research at IIMA. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to


work on different research projects. The position will be based at IIM Ahmedabad.




Key Responsibilities: Assist in the collection and management of primary and secondary data.
• Analyze data using statistical software.
• Conduct thorough literature reviews.
• Contribute to the writing, drafting, and editing of research manuscripts and
reports.
• Provide support for administrative tasks, including organizing conferences and
events.
• To conduct research and write original policy content - long form articles, policy
briefs, reports, op-eds, and cases.
• To provide editorial support across all research and publishing activities at the
centre. Collaborate with authors, writers, and subject matter experts to refine and


improve content quality.


• To provide timely feedback on writing quality and provide proofreading and

formatting support on CESGR's knowledge outputs.
• To create and maintain systems and processes for editing policy and research

writing activities.
• To add value to the CESGR's knowledge outputs by organizing research writing

and editing workshops.





Required Qualifications and Skills: • Master's degree in management, public policy, social sciences, communications,
or a related field from a reputed institution. A Ph.D. and/or Training certifications


or skills in the ESG domain is desirable.


• Experienced candidates with 3-5 years policy content writing and editing

experience for top print/online publications, peer reviewed journals, industry


publications, or similar are preferred.
• Strong understanding of policy content writing, including well-researched and

data-driven articles, policy briefs, reports, op-eds, and cases.
• Comprehensive knowledge of publishing processes, especially editing and

production.
• Proficient in industry-standard software tools for writing, language editing,

proofreading, and grammar checking. Familiarity with data visualization, plot


preparation, and chart creation tools is desirable.
• Proficiency in statistical programming using Stata, Python, and/or R.

Comfortable with creating, managing, analyzing, and visualizing datasets.
• A self-starter with the discipline to consistently produce high-quality policy

content on time.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

DURATION:

This is a full-time, on-campus position. The appointment will initially be for 6 months


with a potential for extension based on performance, at the discretion of the faculty


supervisor. The Research Associate will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours


per week and may be required to travel within India.




SALARY: Compensation will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
