Job Objective: Mass offline team focuses on driving PhonePe acceptance at offline merchants across urban and rural markets across the country. The Distribution Manager is responsible for building a strong merchant base and ensuring a strong relationship with them. The role will require keen observation of merchant and customer behaviour, along with available performance data to modify and evolve regional plans and suggest product / process innovations for better service of customer needs. The incumbent will therefore be responsible for setting up team to drive acquisition and quality targets in an efficient manner.

Reporting Matrix: The position will report to Regional Sales Manager

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to sharpen our focus in targeting businesses in focus Merchant Network
  • A/B Testing for multiple pilots across the territory - design the test, execute the same in different territories, analyse the results and present the findings
  • Partner with internal PhonePe teams such as BD Team, Merchant Operations, Marketing Operations and HR to drive Merchant Acquisition & Engagement
  • Interfacing between the Sales team and backend - reporting of issues and process improvement: Product, HR, SCM etc., competition Landscape- Manpower/Ways of working/Salary and Incentives Benchmarking
  • Set-up processes like
  • Reporting set-up from Agent to NSH. Delegating the tasks to Operations Managers & driving continuously
  • Driving and Tracking the Sales priorities on ground
  • Track record of deliverables assigned to respective stakeholders in the review meets. Ensure follow-up & closure of the same
  • Material Planning, sector planning
  • Contests and schemes for the Sales team, payout closures for the TLs and BDEs
  • Fraud prevention - Frequent checks/audits/investigations on ground, Identify trends & report to backend for process/product closures, set examples by taking appropriate actions
  • DSA Management - closure of Pay outs, reconciliation of payments , ROI discussions
Requirements:
  • MBA from a reputed B-school with an experience of 1-3 years in sales, Account Management & strategic business development
  • Stakeholder management
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced target focused environment
  • Orientation to execute multiple activities at a fast pace
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills to manage large teams and situations on the ground
  • Problem solving and analytical abilities with a strong bias for impact
  • Orientation towards quantitative and qualitative analysis
