Possess strong knowledge of the subjects taught.
Set an academic plan for the session in consultation with the team.
Implement the activities planned at the class level.
Be a role model for the students in terms of behaviour and conduct.
Use appropriate positive language while interacting with students.
Be mindful of building a positive attitude and aptitude of the students towards the school.
To work in accordance with the vision, mission and core values of the school and implement it at the class level.
Specific Responsibilities
A. Curriculum and pedagogy implementation:
The mentor collaborates with the HOD in planning the lessons for the class.
A detailed approach to all the activities that are planned for the month and they must be carried out in the class with prior planning.
All teaching aids must be kept ready before the class commences.
The lesson plan must be followed.
You will contribute positively in all subject meetings and help in building a conducive learning environment for the students
B. Tracking academic progress:
To identify students with academic excellence and students with difficulty in academics.
Should identify ways to engage both groups of students meaningfully and to motivate them to do better than their capabilities.
To monitor the progress of resource room children and follow-up with the resource room in-charge.
The mentor will work to coach the differentiated learners at different levels, extra time outside regular teaching hours will have to be assigned for this area.
C. Discipline and class management:
Any written communication from the parents must be reciprocated in the same manner and on immediate basis.
Note books and correction work should be timely.
Preparing worksheets for topics to be done in consultation with HOD and team.
Skill based assessments must be carried in consultation with HOD and team.
Organize and assist students for special assembly, field trips and events etc.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding students progress, achievements, improvement areas & well being.
Take feedback from parents' interactions.
Carryout administrative duties as directed by Heads/coordinators.
D. Personal growth:
To take up a course that will be beneficial to you and to the organization.
To take up courses as designated by the school for professional growth.
Any other job that entails class management, data reports, students engagement, parents engagement all that falls under your purview.
