Position Overview:
As a faculty member specializing in English, your expertise will contribute to the academic excellence and professional development of the aspiring marine professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Course Delivery:
Deliver lectures on English topics, to teach language skill, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with a focus on maritime communication relevant to marine engineering and navigation.
Incorporate International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards and conventions such as SOLAS, MARPOL, and STCW into the curriculum.
Implement curriculum tailored to the needs of marine students, integrating marine-specific applications of English.
Ensure that course content is up to date, aligned with curriculum standards, and meets the learning objectives.
2. Student Engagement:
Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Conduct simulations and role-playing exercises to practice maritime communication scenarios.
Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students, supporting their academic

Contribute to the development and enhancement of the English curriculum, incorporating best practices and innovative teaching methodologies.

Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in computer science and teaching pedagogies.
Participate in professional development opportunities such as workshops, seminars, and conferences.
Engage in continuous professional development activities, such as attending workshops, conferences, and training sessions.
6. Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in English at an Engineering college, must have undergone B.Ed./M.Ed. or VICT/TOTA (Vertical Integrated Course for Trainers) certification or in a Marine college with FIN (Faculty Identification Number).
Strong knowledge and expertise in English, particularly in areas relevant to marine engineering and navigation.
Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty from other disciplines.
