Who We AreThe Webex Platform and Infrastructure Engineering (WxIE) group operates and maintains the infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, etc.) for the various WebEx collaboration services. Working within the WxIE organization, you\'ll be part of a team that supports the multitude of Webex collaboration services including meetings and calling. We are the bridge that supports both our collaboration development and end users. Our infrastructure supports the shared experience connecting those who build and improve collaboration with technology to empower our customers to engage and innovate -- anywhere, on any device.Who You\'ll Work WithThe WxIE team manages over 25000 servers worldwide and across more than 120 global data centers, spread across five different Webex products. The team has a global presence and a number of overlapping skills so there is always an internal support structure.As a part of the Systems Engineering team, you will find yourself working with a number of different teams including Systems Operations, Storage, Networking, Firewall, Load Balancing, Operations, Project Management, and many others.What You\'ll Do

  • You will be a part of the WxIE Systems Engineering (SysEng) team responsible for Tier 4 support of the commercial WxCCE HX, UCS, and SAN infrastructure.
  • Be responsible for training other members of the team in WxCCE Support, Operations, and Management.
  • Work closely with other Tier 4 team members, and other WxCCE teams located around the world.
  • Apply SRE/DevOps principles to effectively operate WxCCE\'s globally scaled, highly available and stable cloud service.
  • Follow and enhance standard processes and procedures based on ITIL principles.
  • You will work closely with technical leads for day-to-day service operation, planning, monitoring, upgrades, incident management and team and/or customer critical issues, etc.
  • Use your analytical skills to identify issues, propose solutions and deliver successful resolutions.
  • Participate in on-call and pager duty rotation to provide excellent service to our WxCCE team and customers.
  • Review logging, metrics, and alerts (LMA) for errors, identify and file Cisco TAC tickets, propose design tweaks, and much more!
Who You Are
  • Bachelor\'s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • 10 years of experience with the following technologies: VMWare, Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), Cisco Hyperflex or other Hyperconverged platforms.
  • Good understanding of IP networking, TCP, UDP, TLS, X.509 Certificates, etc.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Linux; shell commands, iptables, networking, performance tuning, etc.
  • Experience with SAN and/or Hyperconverged Infrastructure storage systems. Does not need to be as a Storage Admin, but you should have exposure to and understand the differences between these storage technologies.
  • Engineer at heart, passionate about solving puzzles through coding/scripting and mindful of keeping our internal teams and customers happy.
Technical Skills
  • Hardware: Cisco UCS, Fabric Interconnects, MDS Switches. Storage arrays desirable.
  • Programming Languages: Python, Go, scripting (JavaScript, shell script etc.)
  • Operating Systems: Linux (RHEL and derivatives), Windows Server 2019 or later.
  • Virtualization: VMWare, Cisco Hyperflex, KVM/Openstack.
  • Other: Project management, Documentation, Ticket Lifecycle.

Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
