Join us in powering the progress of global aerospace.Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) is currently looking for an Engineering Manager - Versatile Team to join their team in Bangalore, India. This position will report to a Senior Manager in engineering group in BIETC. The hired candidate will manage a newly formed team of cross-trained resources from multiple fields (Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Production Engineering, Tech document writing etc.) & provide them with the leadership in the engineering space. This is a high visibility role and requires strong ability to manage people and navigate through new situations with minimal supervision.Position Responsibilities:As Engineering Manager of the newly established Versatile Team for Core Engineering (electrical, mechanical, production, tech pubs), you will lead and manage engineers who will work on various engineering SOWs within the Engineering, Test & Technology (ET&T) group of BIETC. This position involves high level of collaboration with different collaborators.Key responsibilities:Performance Management

  • Manage the entire performance management process of employees reporting to you.
  • Seek inputs from Execution Managers (functional managers with whom the employees work closely).
  • Develop and pursue plans for employee\xe2\x80\x99s development, Employees Training & Placement Employees.
  • Find assignments/project that need resources by working with Skill Leaders & Gate 0 team
  • Assess projects for feasibility of execution by cross-trained employees.
  • Find the right trainings and get employee ready, by working with execution leaders
  • Map appropriate resources to each project.
  • Manage employee\xe2\x80\x99s duration on project.
  • Maintain Skill database of team and own up-skilling team on tools and skills as per forecast in lean periods.
Communication & Reporting
  • Communicate (on a regular basis) with the execution teams where employees reside
  • Communicate with utilization team.
  • Influence execution managers to use cross skilled resources to take and release resources at the right time.
  • Work with and influence the execution managers to use the versatile team in an efficient manner to meet business objectives.
  • Provide periodic updates to senior management.
  • Manage employee time and overhead.
  • Provide charge lines for project from execution team.
  • Measure and track agreed metrics.
  • Manage and deliver on execution of selected projects (occasionally) with the general execution guidelines, managing the On-Time Delivery (OTD), First Time Quality (FTQ) and meetings of the collaborator expectations.
  • This position will support initiatives of Boeing India Engineering and Technology organization related to employee\xe2\x80\x99s development, customer engagement, strategic relations, Government interactions, etc.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering is a basic requir with 12 to 15 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in medium to large MNCs.
  • 12+ years of total experience in at least one core engineering area such as mechanical/electrical/productions/structural/tech documents or some other related engineering field
  • Strong communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 written and verbal are required to be able to operate across different levels in the organization.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Past experience in working on engineering products & services preferably in the Aerospace domain
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees, skills and abilities required by subordinate employees to accomplish organizational responsibilities.
  • Must be results-driven and have a good understanding of business operations
  • Collaboration is important in this position, individual must have strong teambuilding skills. Must have demonstrated ability to accomplish results through direct reports/colleagues. Ability to work well on virtual teams across multiple time-zones.
  • Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with partners from within Boeing and outside.
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty, thinking out of the box to resolve issues at hand
  • Communication \xe2\x80\x93 very strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, Statements of Work, and connect technology to business considerations (e.g., ROI).
  • Candidate must be fluent in English, and have expertise in using MS Office tools.
  • Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.
  • Must be able to mentor team members and partners to accomplish project and departmental goals and objectives.
Typical Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electronics/Electrical/EEE/E&C/E&TC/Instrumentation Engineering with 12 to 15 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in medium to large MNCs.
