You\'ll take a multifaceted approach to ensure technical excellence and operational efficiency within the infrastructure domain. By strategically integrating automation, monitoring and incident response, you will facilitate the evolution from traditional operations to a more customer-focused and agile approach.Being a leader in Australia and India in the property portal space, REA is a large and challenging technical environment, we are multi-cloud at scale with the best-in-class approach to managing at this scale. • Understand both technical and business needs to remedy, design and implement solutions that enhance system reliability, fault tolerance, and response times.
• Manage client stakeholder expectations and queries during production incidents, providing detailed technical analysis of issues and remediation plans for mitigation and prevention in future, and act as the interface for C-level executives, if or when needed.
• Work with development teams to ensure reliable system design from the start and recommend best practices.
• Identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues, driving continuous improvement and optimizing system performance.
• Oversee and mentor other SREs in the team, contributing to their growth and development.
• Provide guidance, support, and leadership to the team.
• Establish effective ways of working within and across teams.
• Embrace continuous learning, leveraging latest web development trends to solve complex challenges.

Who were looking for:

• Proven people leadership and mentoring experience
• Expert in cloud platforms like AWS, containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure automation tools.
• Integrate observability automation into CI/CD pipelines using GitOps practices for faster feedback loops and proactive issue detection.
• Possess deep expertise in utilizing logs, tracing, and monitoring tools (Splunk) to gain comprehensive system insights.
• Proven ability to optimize application and infrastructure performance for scalability under various load patterns, including high traffic spikes.
• Proficient in network load balancing, security stacks (TLS/certificates), and standard network protocols to ensure a secure and reliable environment.
• Possess a strong understanding of SLI/SLO/SLA metrics, chaos engineering principles, golden signals, blameless postmortem methodologies, and user monitoring techniques.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to conduct capacity planning and scalability assessments, designing solutions for current and future growth.
• Maintain composure under pressure during incidents.
• Effectively communicate complex solutions to audiences with varying technical backgrounds, fostering consensus and collaboration.

Bonus Points for:

• Experience with Python, Ruby, Shell, Buildkite, or PagerDuty,or experience with any scripting language
