Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our India-based engineering team in developing, integrating, and supporting our core Java platform and related components. You will be responsible for driving and implementing a shift left culture and adopting the processes and technology that will empower the engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing application development and support team, ensuring efficient execution of tasks and meeting project deadlines.
- Overseeing the design, development, and integration of the java based shared platform services which includes modules for authentication, authorization, Scheduler, Auditing and other shared software services.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, and Quality Assurance, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Ensuring adherence to best practices for software development, including code reviews, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Managing software support requests, ensuring timely resolution of issues and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Developing and maintaining technical documentation to assist in knowledge transfer and effective software maintenance.
- Mentoring and nurturing the professional development of team members, setting performance objectives, and conducting regular performance evaluations.
- Continuously improving the team\'s efficiency and effectiveness by introducing new tools, technologies, and processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering.
- 12+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a manager role.
- Expertise in Java and related technologies, including experience with spring stack, microservices, SQL, user authentication, and software integration.
- Experience in Java/J2EE, Oracle, NoSQL (Mongo/Dynamo), Spring boot, Kubernetes, Snowflake & Solr
- Experience building software in cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)
- Extensive experience building micro services based ecosystems at scale
- Good to have Exposure with devops platforms like ansible/chef/opscode, systems management, build/artifact management, and deployment platforms.
- Proven experience managing and delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with experience troubleshooting complex environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, is preferred.
- Good to have experience with migrating projects into Open source java stack
