Responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection -typically does not require Engineering degree add non-Engineers language here Develops new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations. To deliver engineering drawings to operations on time and error free. To be the subject matter expert for their area of design. To be able to design all components of the generator SC and motor. To support operations, where required, with the production of the designed components To be fully proficient in designing using 3D CAD Inventor software To guide design draughtsmen in the department, and sign off engineering drawings as checked work. To work to KPIs and objectives set by the DO Lead. Required Qualifications Engineering HNC or HND. Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Engineering/Technology). Engineering degree desirable. Over 5 years experience in an engineering environment. Design experience with generators / motors desirable but not essential. Desired Characteristics Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to influence others and lead small teams. Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact. Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Effective problem identification and solution skills. Proven analytical and organizational ability. Designing of industrial equipment. Designing of fabrications, machining, conduit and cable tray systems, complex assemblies, motors / generators, and equipment for hazardous area desirable. To have an extensive knowledge of the design of 2-pole generators / motors / SC and auxiliary equipment desirable. Knowledge of manufacturing processes of DAX 2-pole generators / motors / SC and auxiliary equipment desirable. Ability to design generators / motors / SC and create customer drawings and drawings for manufacture in AutoCAD, and populate BOMs. Ability to design in 3D in Inventor.
