Job Description

A dedicated team handling complex and large projects across the globe (AP, EMEA and Americas) by offering centralised and comprehensive Bid to Detail Engineering support.


Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities -


• This position involves providing comprehensive engineering support for Wet Seal System applications, focusing on engineering standardization, process simulation, and technical support for various fluid control products.
• Responsibilities include developing and maintaining SSelect software modules, supporting new product development projects through FEA/CFD, and delivering technical presentations.
• The role requires collaboration with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Lifecycle Development (PLD) teams, conducting lab-based testing for product validation, and performing data analysis.
• Additionally, it includes application support, particularly for Plan 53B's and GS 54, conducting thermal analysis, and serving as the global point of contact for API Piping Plan queries.
• The position demands accountability for providing technical support for fluid control products such as heat exchangers, bladder accumulators, and various instruments, ensuring accurate process simulation using Hysys.
• The role requires the preparation of technical documents, including test reports and technical bulletins, and delivering training on using SSelect and API Piping Plans. Maintaining effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, meeting realistic timelines, and providing excellent customer service is crucial.
• The role also involves ensuring compliance with global standards, safety, and local regulations, with a strong focus on the selection and sizing of instrumentation and understanding electrical and instrumentation requirements for hazardous area classification.
The Individual

Skills & Experience -


• BE in Mechanical Engineering / Thermal Engineer or equivalent.
• 2 to 5 years of experience for Engineer with relevant experience in various Process industries including Oil and Gas, Chemical, Petroleum, Petrochemical industries etc., or in industries supplying equipment like Pumps, Compressors, Seals or associated auxiliary equipment's to such process industries
• The position demands accountability for providing technical support for fluid control products such as heat exchangers, bladder accumulators, and various instruments, ensuring accurate process simulation using Hysys
• The role requires the preparation of technical documents, including test reports and technical bulletins, and delivering training on using SSelect and API Piping Plans. Maintaining effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, meeting realistic timelines, and providing excellent customer service is crucial
• The role also involves ensuring compliance with global standards, safety, and local regulations, with a strong focus on the selection and sizing of instrumentation and understanding electrical and instrumentation requirements for hazardous area classification
• Strong hands-on skills with P&ID, 3D Assembly / 3D Part modelling / 2D Draft environments, preferably in Solid edge
• Strong application and detailed engineering knowledge of mechanical seal support systems (API -Piping Plans) or similar fluid control systems products (like Lube oil Consoles or Oil Lubricating Systems or Pre-jacking systems, High Pressure-Low pressure systems or Filtration units etc,) for applications in Oil & Gas, Chemical, Petrochemical, Power, Steel industries
• Good knowledge in interpretation and compliance of project specification from OEM, EPC and End user will be added advantage.
• Hands on experience in selection and release of purchase specifications (Datasheets) of field measurement instruments like Pressure, Level & Temperature gauges, transmitter etc
• Working knowledge with API 682, API 610, API 614, ASTM/ASME piping, and pressure vessels standards are preferable
• Supervisory or Co-ordination experience with fabricators of Lube oil systems or Filtration or other similar low- and high-pressure Equipment would be an added advantage
• Should be committed to very high levels of customer service and collaborate with various inter departments
• Hands on Skills with automation will be an added advantage
• Good analytical skills and excellent understanding of process engineering needs in design & operations, key business drivers and industry practices
• Should have good written and spoken skills in English and Dedicated team player with well-developed interpersonal skills
• Ability to make quick decisions while evaluating risk to John Crane and the customer
• Ability to work in a deadline driven work environment, attention to detail, and multitasking are essential
