This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.Job overview and responsibilitiesThe Technical Operations Reliability team ensures United operates safely and dependably by analyzing aircraft defects and operational disruptions. The team monitors trends to notify maintenance and engineering teams of emerging issues and probable corrective actions.
The Engineer will aim to provide accurate information and useful insights to help multiple divisions make better data-driven decisions. They will be responsible for identifying root causes of key aircraft issues through reporting and analysis. The role includes both strategic and tactical responsibilities: long-term modifications to United\xe2\x80\x99s fleet and maintenance program, as well as day-to-day identification of recurring aircraft system failures.

  • Regulatory reporting
  • Providing accurate and useful data on time - identifying ATA codes for tech ops interruptions, identifying top system failures, etc.
  • Tracking fleet trends and highlighting potential issues by performing operational drill-downs and using aircraft engineering expertise
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on operational drivers and identify potential solutions. Recommend corrective actions to Engineering and Fleet Management groups
  • Supporting ongoing reliability/fleet initiatives and ad-hoc requests
  • Recommending reliability, safety improvements through comprehensive analysis
  • Operational support
  • Collaborate with OEMs and other airline operators to stay current with industry faced fleet reliability issues. Co-ordinate with internal & external stakeholders for following up to closure
  • Supporting weekly reliability meetings
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Reliability
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.   • Bachelor\'s degree in aeronautical engineering, other engineering, or related disciplines
  • At least 2 years of experience in aviation/aviation maintenance or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems
  • Knowledge of aircraft fleet health and/or reliability programs
  • Superior attention to accuracy and detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially MS Excel
  • Ability to do drill down analysis to identify operational root causes
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume data
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred
  • Master\'s degree preferred
  • FAA A&P License/DGCA issued equivalent preferred
  • Familiarity with using database querying tools, such as SQL, and data visualization/reporting tools preferred
  • Analytical experience preferred
  • Ability to design and track meaningful operational metrics preferred
