Position Summary:

This position plays an important role in, driving creative thinking, ensuring that the customer needs are considered and collaborate with the operations team to ensure products are designed for efficient manufacture. Delivering the agreed engineering objectives established in the Annual Operating Plan and considering the organization longer-term strategy road map. Working on multiple projects requiring innovative solutions that advance the technical field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead, participate in or support the following product development activities:

Concept, Planning, design and execution stages of major new products or product enhancements

2D and 3D CAD to produce designs, drawings and models

Risk assessment

Prototyping and testing concept designs and initial engineering builds

Pilot production

Design reviews

Design verification testing

Product validation and usability testing

Pre-production

Respond to Requests for Quotation (RFQs) from the Sales team:

Create initial feasibility studies

Conceptualize new designs and design revisions

Create detailed cost design blueprints

Provide support to production to improve lead times

Improve reliability performance to reduce or eliminate warrantable issues in the field

Deal with parts suppliers, involve in Purchasing wherever necessary

Drive forward product development, innovation and 'think outside the box' to generate engineering advantage for customers, thinking creatively to develop new/improved solutions.

Identify and implement design improvements (functionality, cost, design for manufacture)

Interfacing with internal and external clients to deliver updates, design recommendations and analysis results. Embrace and champion continuous improvement.

Responsible for creation and maintenance of process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs) associated with the analysis process.

Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

ME / BE in Mechanical, Automobile, Production

1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in pneumatic and hydraulic products.

Proficient in Creo 5.0.2.0

Hands on experience in MS Office, especially Excel.

Understanding of FEA analysis tools like Ansys, Pro-mechanica etc.

Understanding of plastic, sheet metal, rubber part design, Castings.

Exposure and understanding of ISO 9001:2015, IATF-16949 process standards.

Physical Requirements:

No onsite travelling required. 100% office work.
