The University is seeking an experienced and visionary Engineer - Mechanical (at Deputy Manager / Manager level) to manage all aspects of the University's HVAC and mechanical infrastructure. The mechanical engineer will be responsible for design, maintenance, and improvement of mechanical systems on campus. This includes HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and a commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.

Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering handling HVAC chiller plants, including central air conditioning.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues with HVAC systems, including refrigerant leaks, compressor malfunctions.
• Preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
• Experience in leading and mentoring a team of engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Experience in working with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and other engineers, to ensure smooth functioning.
Job Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and oversee the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of mechanical systems to ensure they are operating efficiently and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop project plans and specifications.
• Manage and coordinate mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and implement sustainable practices in mechanical system design and maintenance.
• Prepare detailed reports, drawings, and documentation for mechanical systems and project
• Provide technical support and guidance to the Facilities Management team and other university departments.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
GENERAL INFORMATION / DETAILS ABOUT POST
• This position will report to Engineer-in-Charge of Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence.
• The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from a recognized University / Institution.
• Relaxation in age up to 5 years and/or experience may be considered for exceptionally meritorious candidates, with prior approval of the Competent Authority.
• The prescribed essential qualification and experience indicated are bare minimum and mere possession of same will not entitle the candidates to be called for the selection process. Where the number of applications received in response to an advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible for the University to call all eligible candidates for the selection process. The University may restrict the number of candidates to be called for the selection process to a reasonable limit, based on qualification/s and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. The candidates should, therefore, furnish full details of qualifications and experience possessed in the relevant fields, over and above the minimum prescribed. Documentary evidence will be Verified during the selection process.
• The waitlist shall be kept valid for a period of six months. In case a candidate does not join or resigns after joining the post within 6 months, waitlisted candidate/s may be offered the position.
