The Engineer - Mechanical Engineering position is in Nacelle & Fabrications team within Onshore Wind Machine Head Engineering Subsection. The team provides full lifecycle ownership and support for mechanical hardware (Nacelle-Composite Cover, Main Frame, Small Structures...) including New Product/Technology Introduction, Validation & Testing, Field Support and Root Cause Analysis.
This early career Mechanical Engineering position in Onshore Wind Engineering team allows you to grow your skills as a member of component development team.
The Engineer - Mechanical Engineering will be responsible for design and development of mechanical components with full exposure to product life cycle working with diverse, cross-functional teams to execute component trade studies and design deliverables.

Roles and Responsabilities:
As Engineer- Mechanical Engineering for Onshore Wind you will:
• Design engineering solutions for mechanical structural parts (Composites, Big & Small Structures...) of a wind turbine.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams within GE Onshore Wind to coordinate interfaces between mechanical systems and components.
• Develop engineering drawings and specification requirements for sourcing of wind turbine components.
• Collaborate and develop technical risk assessment and execute validation test plans to mitigate risks.
• Assist in issue resolution of mechanical components for fielded turbines.
• Support technical problem solving in the team.
• Collaboration with System, Sub-System, and component Engineers to integrate components into overall turbine design while satisfying turbine and interface requirements.
• Collaborate and Own risk identification and mitigation process including dFMEA and design verification.
• Ensure quality of new and revised drawings, BoMs and specifications applying all GE and industry processes, standards and best practices
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor/ Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering.
• Minimum of 0-3 years product design and development experience
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and project management skills
• Knowledge of CAD (preferably Unigraphics NX 3D-CAD), CAE (preferably Ansys) and PLM tools
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of time
