BURNDY Technology and Global Business Services Private Limited (HUBBELL INDIA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hubbell Inc. Hubbell India provides Engineering Services, Business Solutions and IT Services. Hubbell Engineering located in Ascendas, ITPL,Chennai, is engaged in the business of computer aided design and engineering services. The Hubbell Business Solutions functions at Infopark Kochi, provide superior business intelligence, knowledge services and business process solutions across Hubbell divisions and Corporate. IT Services team is spread across Chennai and Kochi.

Hubbell Electrical Products LLP located in Chennai is poised to assist with part and product manufacturing for all Hubbell Business units

Position Overview

This role involves collaborating with other in-house disciplines across Hubbell worldwide, to bring design ideas to fruition - from initial sketch to production.

We are looking for someone who can effectively communicate ideas through sketches and turn their ideas into 3D. A creative powerhouse, who has a great aesthetic sense and refined design skills. Someone who is a self-starter and able to move projects forward.

This full-time position is located in Hubbell India Technology center, Chennai, and reports to Manager Industrial Design.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with major functions like Engineering & Product Management of Hubbell Group companies (Global Support) to explore and understand design requirements and constraints to create visually compelling and functional products per application requirements as well as meet design specifications
• Develop and iterate designs through sketches, prototypes, renderings and communicating with Hubbell business stakeholders
• Use CAD software to refine designs and create virtual models of products
• Work in close collaboration with other Mechanical / Electrical engineering resources within the team to translate product concepts and design intent into detailed 2D/3D CAD models suitable for hand over to production team
• Collaborate with various functions of the organization through the various phases of the development process, from conception to production including building Prototype samples and Testing
• Produce photo realistic renderings of CAD models to be used for marketing

Skills and Experience

• 2-4 yrs experience in creating functional, ergonomic, and aesthetically pleasing products through hand / sketching or digital sketching using relevant design software
• Experience in at least anyone of the 3D modelling software\'s like Rhinoceros, Siemens NX, Solidworks, Autodesk Alias, Inventor and one 2D illustration/sketching software such as Autodesk Sketchbook, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc\xe2\x80\xa6
• Experience with Rendering tools like Keyshot, Hypershot etc\xe2\x80\xa6
• Experience in Industrial product design and development
• Experience in designing Electrical & Electronics Products / Power & Utility Products will be an advantage
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes and their design requirements
• Theoretical and Practical application knowledge of Product ergonomics and Usability
• Mathematical Skills, Reasoning Ability
• Must possess strong organizational skills and strong oral & written communication skills
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills

Bachelors Degree

Masters Degree in Design or Engineering General
