The main purpose of Equity Research is to provide advice to institutional investors about the stocks they should buy or sell to make profits for their clients and we work closely with colleagues in Equity Sales, Sales-Trading and Trading to deliver the service. Our strong Research franchise with institutional investors, the market insights we develop and the close relationships we establish with the companies we cover are also very valuable to internal clients such as Investment Banking, Derivatives, Credit & Rates and Private Equity. The candidate will be working within our top-rated team, providing support to the senior analyst. Job Responsibilities Support and proactively communicate investment ideas to senior analyst. Monitoring, responding to and analyzing daily news flow on Emerging Market. Assist in preparation of materials for researching trends across 24 emerging markets and 11 sectors. Synthesize, assess, maintain, and update datasets for investment analysis. Assist in primary research and analysis of data and writing research reports. Draft reports/notes on relevant investment themes and events. Substantial contribution to regular in-depth product reports. Contribute with ideas towards the thematic reports, asset allocation calls and model portfolio. Regular liaison with global JPM analysts, macro and strategy team, and sales/trading team. Assist in responding to internal and external client queries Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills Bachelors degree minimum. Likely to have a higher degree in a relevant subject and/or CFA, CA etc. Must be willing to study for CFA if not obtained. Prior sell-side Equities experience is preferred, but is not a pre-requisite. Experience gained in accountancy, consulting, or other areas of investment management or banking may also be relevant. Good Excel, Word and PowerPoint knowledge, along with strong analytical, numerical, and quantitative skills, and high attention to detail. A strong understanding of accounting will be highly valued. The candidate needs to be able to deal confidently with people at all levels in the organization and J.P. Morgan clients in the asset management industry. A strong work ethic is essential. Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills Passion for the stock markets, and interest in macro-economics. Enthusiastic, proactive, and highly self-motivated, generative of ideas. Strong presenter and/or clear ability to develop into one, and proven writing skills. Programming knowledge and previous experience with Bloomberg is preferred, but not essential. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. The candidate needs to have the ability to work well in a team, in a well-organized, detailed oriented manner.
