The Company\'s facilities are audited and certified by health authorities from India, the USA, EU, United Kingdom and Russia, amongst others, for GMP related activities.Job Purpose: Involving in Engineering Safety implementation and compliance for Lab Facilities, Utilities, Bio facilities, in Manufacturing and development facilities for Syngene\' s Bengaluru / Hyderabad operations.Key responsibilities: SafetyPrimary Responsibility,

  • Overall adherence to safe practices and procedures of oneself and the teams aligned.
  • Contributing to development of procedures, practices and systems that ensures safe operations and compliance to company\'s Safety, integrity & quality standards.
  • Driving a corporate culture that promotes environment, health, and safety (EHS) mindset and operational discipline at the workplace always.
  • Ensuring safety of self, teams, and lab/plant by adhering to safety protocols and following environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements always in the workplace.
  • Ensure all assigned mandatory trainings related to data integrity, health, and safety measures are completed on time by all members of the team including self
  • Compliance to Syngene\'s Safety & Quality standards at all time.
  • Hold self and their teams accountable for the achievement of safety goals
  • Govern and Review safety metrics from time to time
Engineering Safety & corporate initiatives:
  • Conceptualization and preparation of safety related URS/Layouts for biologics facility, injectable facility, laboratories design for pharmaceutical process
  • understanding on brownfield project expansion including detailing, GAP analysis understanding and preparation of proposal including conceptual layouts.
  • Ensure Syngene equipment\'s, premises, utility systems, are well maintained as per GEP.
  • Establish safety standards & policies for Engineering & maintenance.
  • Manage contractor safety management, permit to work activities & high-risk procedures across Syngene.
  • Responsible for Safety related to major facility modifications and major maintenance activities within company premises.
  • Ensure higher standard of safety while execution of a projects & maintenance task, ensure complete vendor compliance to the internal safety standards. Run a consequence metrics for non-compliance of EHSS framework for vendors and employees.
  • Meet regulatory & statutory requirements related to Engineering
  • Annual planning, budgeting & costing in assigned areas.
  • Ensure successful audits & client visits related to Engineering, Infrastructure & projects.
  • Safety evaluation for engineering equipment\'s & facilities, related design, innovations, and various technical needs.
  • To maintain business continuity plan & risk register.
  • Ensure smooth running of any audits related to EHS management system.
  • To delegate the roles and responsibilities in the respective functional areas.
  • Implement strategic plan in line with business requirement.
  • Adhering to the company\'s established processes and rules and ensuring that the team does as well.
  • Compliance with SOPs, cGMP and EHSS standards.
  • Updating on day to day activates and subsequent plan with reporting manager.
Educational Qualification:
  • Safety Certified engineer with additional qualification in BE/BTech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
Technical/Functional Skills.
  • Good knowledge on Pharma/Biotech industry environment.
  • Bioprocess/Sterile/Discovery services operations will be plus.
  • Possess the knowledge and exposure to EHSS practices.
Experience.: Overall 15-18 year of industry experience out of which 8 years of relevant manufacturing facility construction and management experience required.
  • Good knowledge in engineering safety and infrastructure projects safety.
  • Good knowledge in cleanroom and Biosafety levels.
  • Bio process/Sterile industrial experience is preferable.
