Major Responsibilities

•General•

1. Responsible for day to day operations in the department

2. Conduct training sessions for the employees and demonstrates a high degree of standards awareness; promotes teamwork and acts as role model

3. Displays warmth, care and genuine enthusiasm when dealing with guests and internal customers

4. Adheres to the hotel's code of conduct and grooming & hygiene standards

5. Is seen as working hands-on, assists colleagues in crunch times. Flexible at his work place and performs any additional duties as assigned

6. Actively participates in daily briefings and department monthly meetings

7. Maintains a clean and orderly work area and promotes a safe working environment

•Departmental•

1. To coordinate very closely with Assistant Chief Engineer for carrying out various jobs.

2. Able to be multi tasked in handling various duties as assigned to him by the manager

3. Be thoughtful with the maintenance issues and suggest alternatives for the different problems that may rise in daily operations

4. To carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance, up gradation and renovation

5. Operation of various engineering equipment so that the basic engineering services viz., supply of electricity, water, LPG, steam, TV signals are maintained without any interruption.

6. Electrical sub-station details--HT and LT panels, Transformer - single line diagram of electricity distribution -- Panels & distribution boards -Approval by Electrical Inspectorate --DG sets

7. Telephone Exchange Maintenance & Operations -- 48 V DC source for telephone exchange, giving extra connections as & when required..

8. Computer Section - UPS - Equipment in Telephone exchange area ( EPABX)

9. Music & TV System - PA system for Banquets -Fire Alarm System

10. Water analysis, storage & maintenance of water tanks - Cold water distribution, Individual geysers for each villa, flush & drain maintenance, pressure sand filter, softener, submersible pumps, water pipe lines maintenance & Sewage Treatment Plant( STP )

11. Swimming pool-Water Circulation System & Water Clarity maintenance.

12. Kitchen equipment--Various electrical, LPG and refrigeration equipment - kitchen-wise--Operation and maintenance - Walk-in cold store and deep freezer--LPG bank-Safety in handling LPG, cooling towers for cold store.

13. Chemical dosing--Water analysis and garden treated water supply from STP

14. Since its a 24•7 responsible to be on duty and attend calls he should have sound knowledge on how to handle various equipment and attend guest complaints of vary nature

15. To coordinate & co-operate with all the departments for their smooth and trouble free operations of their Engineering systems and equipment

16. In addition to the above functions, any other assignment / job given by the Management occasionally or on a daily basis to be performed respectively
