Summary


Main Duties


Customer Service


• Provides a courteous and professional service at all times.
• Handles guest and employee enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst providing a prompt follow-up.

Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.



Operational


• Works closely with other employees in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.
• Works in a supportive and flexible manner with other departments, in a spirit of "We work through Teams".
• Carries out and completes all maintenance works/requests according to the established schedule and ensures high quality of finishing work. Pays particular attention to guest related jobs.
• Operates assigned machines/ equipment or "Primary Plant" as to provide continuous and consistent utilities required for operations.
• Handles the verification, storage and utilisation of all fuel deliveries to the premises as per the established policy and procedures.
• Avoids unsightly hazards and complies with all local regulations and codes.
• Properly handles and maintains all power tools.
• Submits request to the Team Leader - Engineering for the purchases of parts and consumables.
• Ensures cleanliness of all work areas and protects the surroundings when executing duties.
• Ensures effective energy conservation measures in areas of operations
• Ensures fire, life and safety systems are operational.
• Performs emergency procedures relating to fire, life and safety; e.g., such as attending to fire alarms, lift rescue.
• Ensures timely completion of work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Reports any abnormal conditions noticed at any time in line with safety related equipment or installation to Team Leader - Engineering.
• Assists other Technicians when requested by Superiors
• Assembles, installs, tests and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment and fixtures using hand tools and power tools
• Diagnoses malfunctions in systems and components and rectifies defects.
• Reads and understands control circuits to rectify electrical circuit faults and equipment.
• Connects cables to circuit breakers, transformers and other HT and LT equipment.
• Recognises and identifies areas of hazard that require to be reported to management.
• Uses and maintains a variety of power tools and testing equipment.
• Performs physically desired tasks such as digging trenches to lay conduit, lifting and moving heavy objects.
• Works with ladders, scaffolding and on roofs up to 25 meters in height to maintain, install or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures

Attends and contributes to all training sessions and meetings as required.


• Exercises responsible behaviour at all times and positively representing the hotel team and Hyatt International.
• Maintains strong, professional relationship with relevant representatives from competitor hotels, business partners and other organisations.
• Reads the hotel's Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to computer resources, fire, hygiene, health and safety.
• Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
• Responds to changes in the Engineering function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
• Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
