Job Overview: As an Electrical Team Leader specializing in Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) and Pump Stations (PS), you will lead a team of electrical engineers and technicians responsible for the design, maintenance, and operation of electrical systems and equipment within wastewater treatment facilities and pump stations. Your role will involve overseeing electrical projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and promoting safety, reliability, and efficiency in electrical infrastructure. Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Lead and supervise a team of electrical engineers, technicians, and support staff involved in electrical projects within WWTP and PS.
Provide guidance, direction, and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Delegate tasks, assign responsibilities, and monitor team performance to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
Project Management:
Plan, coordinate, and oversee electrical projects within WWTP and PS, including upgrades, retrofits, and equipment installations.
Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans, and monitor progress to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including plant operators, maintenance teams, and vendors, to ensure alignment with project goals and regulatory requirements.
Electrical Design and Engineering:
Develop detailed engineering designs, plans, and specifications for electrical systems and equipment within WWTP and PS, including power distribution, motor control, instrumentation, and control systems.
Design electrical components, circuits, and control panels using computer-aided design (CAD) software, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Perform calculations, simulations, and analyses to optimize equipment selection, sizing, and performance, considering factors such as load requirements, voltage levels, and safety standards.
Equipment Selection and Procurement:
Evaluate electrical equipment vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers to select appropriate components and systems for WWTP and PS projects.
Prepare equipment specifications, bid documents, and procurement packages, and participate in vendor negotiations and selection processes.
Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery, installation, and commissioning of electrical equipment, adhering to project schedules and budgets.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, codes, and guidelines related to electrical systems, equipment, and safety within WWTP and PS.
Prepare permit applications, regulatory reports, and documentation to obtain approvals from regulatory agencies and maintain compliance with environmental and occupational health regulations.
Construction Support:
Provide technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing construction plans, responding to requests for information (RFIs), and resolving design-related issues.
Conduct site inspections and field visits to monitor construction progress, ensure compliance with design specifications, and address construction challenges as they arise.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct design reviews and quality checks to verify the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of engineering designs and documentation.
Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to address feedback, resolve discrepancies, and ensure that designs meet project requirements and objectives.
Requirements
B B.Sc. Electrical Engineering.
A minimum of 15 years of experience in the electrical design of pump station (e.g., sewage, potable water, irrigation) and treatment plants.
Experience in preparation of electrical BOQ\xe2\x80\x99s, design reports, calculation sheets.
Evaluation of electrical equipment proposals.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and advisory skills .
