Job Title: Electrical Supervisor

Reports To: Maintenance Manager/Plant Manager

Job Summary: The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the electrical maintenance, repair, and installation activities within the die casting foundry. This includes ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems, managing a team of electricians, and coordinating with other departments to minimize downtime and optimize production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision and Leadership:
• Supervise and lead a team of electricians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Develop and implement work schedules and assignments for the electrical team.
• Maintenance and Repair:
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, including die casting machines, furnaces, and other foundry equipment.
• Ensure all electrical systems are functioning correctly and safely.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, coordinating repairs in a timely manner.
• Installation and Upgrades:
• Plan and supervise the installation of new electrical systems and equipment.
• Oversee electrical upgrades and modifications to existing systems to improve efficiency and safety.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of electrical systems and equipment.
• Promote a culture of safety within the electrical team and the broader foundry.
• Coordination and Communication:
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure minimal disruption to production during electrical maintenance or repairs.
• Maintain open communication with management, providing regular updates on electrical projects and issues.
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports and documentation of electrical work, including maintenance logs and safety records.
• Inventory and Budget Management:
• Manage inventory of electrical supplies and equipment, ensuring necessary materials are available when needed.
• Assist in budget planning and cost control for electrical maintenance and projects.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a foundry or manufacturing environment. At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Certifications: Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and control systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to electrical work.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in a foundry environment, which may involve exposure to high temperatures, dust, and noise.
• May require standing, walking, and working in confined spaces for extended periods.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
