Job Description

1) Design Conceptualization:

•Interpret project requirements, electrical specifications, and client needs to conceptualize electrical panel designs.

•Collaborate with stakeholders, including electrical engineers, project managers, and clients, to understand project objectives and constraints.

2)Schematic Design:

•Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control circuit diagrams for electrical panels using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.

•Specify components, devices, and equipment such as circuit breakers, relays, switches, meters, and transformers based on project requirements and industry standards.

3) Panel Layout and Assembly:

•Design panel layouts, including the arrangement of components, wiring, and terminations, to optimize space utilization, accessibility, and safety.

•Create detailed drawings, plans, and assembly instructions for fabricators, technicians, and electricians involved in panel construction and installation.

4) Component Selection and Specification:

•Select appropriate electrical components, materials, and hardware for panel construction, considering factors such as voltage ratings, current capacities, and environmental conditions.

•Specify component part numbers, specifications, and sourcing requirements in collaboration with procurement and supply chain teams.

5) Safety and Compliance:

•Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, UL) governing the design, construction, and installation of electrical panels.

•Incorporate safety features, such as protective enclosures, grounding systems, and overcurrent protection devices, to mitigate electrical hazards and ensure personnel safety. 6) Testing and Validation:

•Develop test plans, procedures, and protocols to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of electrical panels.

•Coordinate with testing laboratories or in-house facilities to conduct functional testing, insulation resistance tests, and other verification tests as required.

7) Documentation and Reporting:

•Prepare comprehensive documentation, including drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOM), and technical manuals, for electrical panels.

•Maintain accurate records of design changes, revisions, and version control throughout the design process.

•Provide technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and training to internal teams and customers as needed.
