Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Control Panel Estimation Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team.The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for control panel projects.This role requires a deep understanding of electrical control systems, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for control panels projects (Including but not limited to PCC, MCC, APFC, AMF, DG Synchronization, Automation), including material, labor, and overhead costs.
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to develop cost models and ensure consistency in estimation processes.
- Technical Analysis:
- Review and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
- Collaborate with design engineers to understand project requirements and technical specifications.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities related to project costs and timelines.
- Vendor and Supplier Coordination:
- Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
- Project Documentation:
- Prepare and present detailed cost estimation reports and documentation for internal review and client proposals.
- Maintain accurate records of all estimation activities and update the database with current pricing information.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, design engineers, and procurement teams to ensure alignment on project scope and cost expectations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to sales and business development teams during the proposal phase.
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in control panel design, estimation, or related engineering roles.
- Proven experience in cost estimation for electrical control systems and automation projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
- Strong knowledge of control panel components, wiring standards, and industry regulations.
- Familiarity with estimation software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, specialized estimation software).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certification in cost estimation or project management.
- Experience with ERP systems and project management software.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., UL, IEC).
