You will be working as Electrical Engineer and will be part of Motion Business Area for MO-System Drives Division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Engineering Manager - India and will be responsible for designing of electrical Power Drive System in power electronics field. Conceptual design of the Power Electronics Converter Systems using simulation tools to their final validation in the R&D labs including the qualification of components, sub-assemblies and the full conversion line. Your responsibilities Power Electronics System designing for LV and MV Drives and developing of High-Power converters components, sub-assemblies and full line-up according to corresponding standards Reviewing specifications and communicating requirements to vendors and working closely with them on prototyping / samples including component selection, qualification and validation Reviewing and updating of technical notes, product Schematics and designing documentation Performing design calculation and simulations for new product developments Performing Functional Failure Analysis (FFA) on Power Drive Systems and supporting to PLCM Designing High Power Drive products considering project requirements (performances, manufacturability, serviceability, testability, etc) and relevant standards Your background Bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in Electrical engineering. Preferably with Power Electronics background or equivalent experience Preferred 5+ years of experience in multi megawatt Medium and/or Low voltage Power Experience in Electronics System design and development and familiarity with Power Drive System design aspects and related components such as switchgears, motors, transformers, auxiliaries and interfaces etc High interest and focus on practical testing and validation in lab environment with expertise in solutions and components qualification including reliability testing in MV and /or LV environment Experience in modelling, simulation and system design analysis using state of the art simulation and engineering tools (e.g. MATLAB - Simulink, EPLAN, etc.) Interest in applied research and development, self-organized, motivated person, that likes to work in a research team composed of experts in different domains SAP knowledge would be added advantage More about us ABB System Drives is a global supplier of high-power, high-performance drives, drive systems and packages for industrial processes and large infrastructure applications.
