The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for providing technical support in maintaining, diagnosing, and rectifying electrical, instrumentation and control issues related to plant process and utility equipment, ensuring high levels of plant availability, safety, and compliance with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance checks and corrections on all electrical, instrumentation and control equipment, including calibration as needed to ensure optimal functioning of all devices.
  • Diagnose faults in electrical and instrumentation systems, analyze its cause, utilize diagnostic tools, make necessary repairs and restore the equipment to their optimal condition.
  • Execute proactive and corrective maintenance tasks on plant process and utility equipment in a timely manner.
  • Assist in planning and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Work collaboratively within the team to troubleshoot and resolve equipment or system failures, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuity of plant operations.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to industrial electrical safety standards and precautions, ensuring personal safety and the safety of coworkers.
  • Comply with all local, state and federal electrical and control codes, laws and regulations related to the plant operations.
  • Proactively identify potential equipment failure or safety concerns and act promptly to rectify the issues.
  • Document and maintain records of all activities, like equipment performance, maintenance work performed, and parts replaced for future use and compliance purposes.
  • Participate in continuous improvements initiatives, suggesting equipment upgrades and automation opportunities to enhance production efficiency while maintaining compliance with HSE guidelines.
  • Adhere to all company policies, rules, permits, and working instructions applicable to the site.
  • Participate in mandatory training regarding industry compliance, safety and equipment handling best practices.
Job Requirements:
  • Experience with electrical, instrumentation, and control systems in a FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Great diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Good teamwork abilities, positive attitude, and ability to communicate effectively across different levels of operations.
