Health, Safety, and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify unsafe practices and ensure that waste handling is conducted safely.
• Ensure the facility has proper permits, licenses, and certifications to operate.
Incident Management:
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans for potential hazards, including spills, chemical exposure, and fire risks.
Training and Development:
• Conduct EHS training for employees, contractors, and visitors, focusing on hazard recognition, waste handling, emergency response, and PPE use.
• Ensure that all employees understand their role in maintaining safety standards.
Environmental Management:
• Oversee waste disposal processes to ensure environmentally safe practices and compliance with waste management protocols.
• Track waste generation, storage, and disposal records to ensure accurate reporting and adherence to waste disposal guidelines.
• Monitor pollution control measures, ensuring minimal impact on the environment.
Risk Management:
• Identify potential environmental hazards associated with waste management activities and develop control measures to mitigate risks.
• Maintain emergency response and contingency plans, focusing on spill response and hazardous waste containment.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain records of EHS activities, incidents, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory agencies, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Document corrective actions, training records, and safety audits.
Continuous Improvement:
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating existing processes, identifying safety risks, and suggesting improvements.
• Conduct regular safety drills and review the efficacy of safety protocols.
