Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Phase 1 in the construction of the new electric locomotive factory for manufacturing and supply of 800 units of 12000HP locomotives is also complete at Madhepura, Bihar while the depot at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is ready to commence operation. IndiaResponsibilitiesPurpose of the Job:Ensuring occupational Health and safety at all Alstom Premises and work site areas and to be compliant with the requirements of occupational health and safety and as per contract and as per law of the landOrganization StructureThe Chief Safety manager of Project EHS organization will be the hiererchial manager and supervises EHS officers.Mission & ResponsibilityObjectives :- Guiding and mentoring the site team at all Alstom premises and work site areas and contractual scope of work to be always compliant with requirements of Occupational Health and Safety as per conditions of contract and as per law of the land-Drive the Project Occupational Health and safety Plan and company Occupational health and safety requirements- Facilitate the site team in acheiving zero severe accident target- Providing EHS Induction training and other safety related topics on high risk activities- closely monitoring the effectiveness of Permit to Work system to ensure safety control measures pertaining to high risk activities are in place .- performing EHS inspections along with team membersResponsibilities- disseminating and communicating EHS Policy, EHS Management System requirements to the Project Site Team- providing EHS Induction Training and other occupational health and safety related trainings for staff,visitors,sub-contractor and workmen- Organizing emergency preparedness mock drills at work site locations-Closely monitoring the effectiveness of Work permit system- Regular site EHS inspections and reporting the findings for corrective actions-Conducting Hazard Identification and Risk assessment along with site execution team for upcomming site activitiesQualification and SkillsThe candidate for EHS officer should full fill the following Qualification and experience which is required as per the Delhi Metro Conditions of Contract1. Degree in science / Diploma in Engineering with Govt recognized safety diplomas from Correspondence course of NICMAR, RLI / CLI , National & State Productivity council, other state technical education boards etc2. Electrcial / Mechincal / Fire and Safety Engineering Graduate with 10 -15 years of work experience in full-fledged SHE Department of any public sector / leading private sector /MNC / with prior approval of employer on a case to case basis.Skill Set Requirement for EHS Leader- Must have good communication skills both verbal and written- Capable of disseminating and communicating EHS Policy ,EHS Management System requirements and Occupational health and safety requirements of the contract and of Alstom to Project Site Team- Capable of providing EHS Induction Training and other trainings on other occupational health and safety related topics to staff,visitors ,sub-contractors and workmen- capable of Organizing emergency preparedness mock drills at work site locations- Well familiar with Permit to work system- Added advantage if having experience in metro / main line railway construction projects in safety function in works involving OHE Installation ,Traffic management safety ,lifting operations / OHE equipment erection activities- Capable of conducting Regular EHS Inspections and reporting the findings for corrective actions- Capable of conducting Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment- Capable of Continuous monitoring of safety related documents, reports and issues to keep them updated- Should be well familiar with the legal requirements pertaining to construction safety- Capable of working as a team player- Added advantage if the candidate has past exapericnae of Metro / Railway Industries.Location : Surat Metro Project SiteYou don\'t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us.
