Department: Neurology

Position Summary: The EEG Technician plays a crucial role in the neurology department by performing electroencephalograms (EEGs) to assist in diagnosing neurological disorders. The technician will work closely with neurologists, ensuring accurate and high-quality EEG recordings.

Key Responsibilities:

• EEG Preparation: Prepare patients for EEG procedures by explaining the process, ensuring comfort, and addressing any concerns.
• Electrode Application: Apply electrodes to the scalp according to established protocols, ensuring proper placement for accurate readings.
• EEG Monitoring: Operate EEG machines, monitor brain activity, and ensure data quality during recordings.
• Data Management: Record and document patient information and EEG results accurately in the hospital's electronic medical records (EMR) system.
• Post-Procedure Care: Remove electrodes after the procedure, clean the scalp, and provide post-procedure instructions to patients.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on EEG equipment, ensuring all devices are functioning correctly and are in compliance with safety standards.
• Collaboration: Work with neurologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and contribute to patient care plans.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about EEG procedures and any necessary follow-up.

Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma or degree in EEG Technology, Neurodiagnostic Technology, or related field.
• Experience: Previous experience as an EEG Technician in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
• Certification: Certification from a recognized body (e.g., American Board of Registration of EEG and EP Technologists) is a plus.

Skills:

• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of EEG equipment and neurodiagnostic procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?25,000.00 per month
