POSITION SUMMARY:

• A complete understanding of Component environmental requirements and \xe2\x80\x9cYTEOL\xe2\x80\x9d (Years to End of Life). Familiarity with Component Procurement.
• Knowledge of or ability to research a device manufacturer\xe2\x80\x99s products and part numbering convention.
• Experience with developing obsolescence mitigation options; product and procurement management systems; data mining solutions; configuration management processes; bill of materials and manufacturing processes; electrical / electronic manufacturing products; reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex documents and engineering drawings.
• Will interact daily with an engineering team located in California with some overlap with that time zone.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Applications experience required: Agile PLM, Orcad Capture Symbol Creation, Excel, and the ability to research and contact manufacturers to inquire about component information
• Ability to support engineers with Orcad schematics such as creating symbols and checking symbol validity, generating, checking netlist, and identify design rule errors
• Agile Database Components Maintenance: BOM scrubbing to address obsolescence, lead time/procurement issues, and maintain environmental Requirements: REACH/RoHS/Prop65/TSCA
• Identify obsolete components and/or suppliers and develop solutions to resolve all such issues
• Finding alternate parts from different suppliers with exact form, fit, and function (perform Like for Like analysis/technical spec comparison study). Supplier PCN reviews, Manufacturing Change Notifications, and supplier risk evaluation. Conduct Research on equivalent components to expand AVL in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain
• Component Requests to ensure they meet Internal Requirements, and own Electrical Component Lifecycle Management
• As an Electrical Component Engineer, you will be responsible for Electronic Component research, Component Selection, and working with cross-functional teams to validate AVL components
• Experience interpreting electrical component drawings and data sheets is required.
• Resolve supplier issues in cooperation with quality and supply chain
• Perform BOM grading and address obsolescence with forward-looking mitigation plans
• Own the Electrical Bill of Material (BOM) and support Hardware engineering in the release process Ensuring End-to-End BOM Quality from CAD to Manufacturing Process Design Change Request, Change Orders and Deviations, working with all key stakeholders (Export Orcad BOM, scrub/clean and release in Agile)
• Support design engineering in component selection activities during design and development

EXPIRIENCE WITH THE PROCESSES BELOW IS A PLUS:

• Review of PCBA and harness drawings and specifications, providing feedback for design-for-manufacturing
• Work with supply chain, engineering, and supplier for the new product introduction
• PCB layout and familiarity with associated tools such as Altium, Allegro and PADS.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• 6+yrs experience in Electronic Technician role.
• EE degree in related technology or equivalent technical training; equivalent experience or combination of schooling and experience preferred.
