Job Title: Academic Counselor

Position Overview

The Academic Counselor is responsible for supporting students in achieving their academic goals by providing guidance, resources, and personalized advice. The role involves assisting with course selection, career planning, addressing academic challenges, and fostering student success.

Key Responsibilities

1. Student Advising

Counsel students on academic planning, course selection, and degree requirements.

Provide personalized guidance to students based on their skills, interests, and career aspirations.

Monitor academic progress and provide solutions for challenges.

2. Program Coordination

Assist students in understanding institutional policies and resources.

Coordinate and facilitate workshops on study skills, time management, and career planning.

Collaborate with faculty and departments to support student success initiatives.

3. Career Guidance

Help students explore career options aligned with their academic background.

Support with internship opportunities, resumes, and interview preparation.

4. Student Support Services

Identify students at risk and provide appropriate interventions or referrals.

Collaborate with mental health counselors and other departments for holistic support.

5. Administrative Tasks

Maintain accurate student records and documentation.

Prepare reports on academic advising and success rates.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or related field (Master's preferred).

Proven experience in academic counseling or a similar role.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Knowledge of educational systems, policies, and career development.

Proficient in using student information systems and office software.

Pay: ?32,000.00 - ?36,425.61 per month
