:This position is with EAII Advisors, Evidence Action's technical partner in India.Position OverviewJob Title: OfficerDesignEmployment Status: RegularPosition Location: New DelhiAbout the PositionThe Design Officer, as part of the communications team will be reporting to the Deputy Director, Communications and support the Communication unit to roll out the India communication strategy. The Design Officer will support with visual storytelling that engages, informs, and inspires. The ideal candidate will be one who can take concepts and ideas and create visual representations, in both print and electronic media.
The candidate will support in creating Information Education Communication (IEC) campaigns and collaterals for the successful implementation of the National Deworming Day (NDD), Iron Folic Acid (IFA) supplementation and India Safe Water (ISF) programs. Key tasks will include responding to state and national-level requirements; conceptualizing, designing, and disseminating communication products to support program and advocacy; and design/implement communication products/strategies as per requirements from government and other stakeholders.The Design Officer will ensure branding standards and guidelines are adhered to in all external and internal operations and communications. The position will support team members to strengthen their visual communications skills and assist them to effectively and appropriately communicate their work. The position will be based at the Delhi office and will work closely with and report to the Deputy Director, Communications.Responsibilities:\xc2\xb7 Design all publications for connecting our work with external or internal audience.\xc2\xb7 Support campaign design by creating visual identities, communication & collaterals to inspire an external audience.\xc2\xb7 Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple stakeholders with the support of Communications team members, on a wide range of materials that include newsletters, reports, emailers, campaign collateral, web design, presentations, programming collateral, internal communications etc.\xc2\xb7 Lead efforts to develop/adapt and maintain high quality of training materials that will be used for NDD, IFA and ISF programs.\xc2\xb7 Support organization's external communication & engagement channels.\xc2\xb7 Select colors, fonts, images, and layouts and understand / implement organizational brand guidelines across all communication design.\xc2\xb7 Manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.\xc2\xb7 Implement feedback and changes whenever possible.\xc2\xb7 Work with vendors, designers and agencies for creation of innovative print collateral and work with them for ensuring timely deliverables\xc2\xb7 Use graphic and video software's such as InDesign, Canva, Photoshop, and/or CorelDraw to create internal and external communications materials\xc2\xb7 Work on developing and editing content for programs including articles, press releases, photo essays, blogs, briefs, case studies, annual reports, newsletters, among others\xc2\xb7 Support in event management collaterals when required at national and state level.\xc2\xb7 Work with national and staff teams to ensure adherence to branding guidelines, including supporting teamsRequirements:Essential Qualifications, Experience, and CompetenciesEssentials: Bachelor's degree in design, graphic design, fine arts, or a related field or any graduate with diploma in design. Strong demonstrated experience working in the field of graphic design, preferably with an international agency/ organization, for at least 4-5 years. Proven expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) as well as MS Office (interactive PowerPoint); experience with Adobe Premiere, AfterEffects, Sketch, or InVision Studio is a plus. The skill of free-hand illustrations and/or digital drawings is also beneficial for the role but is not mandatory. Video editing skills for creating basic in-house A/Vs. Expertise in visual design, visual theory (i.e., composition, color theory, typography, etc.), a sharp eye for layout design, and a strong affinity for the latest design trends and new media (augmented/virtual reality, social media, etc.). Experience working in a profile with a strong focus on creating and designing content and other communications collateral (please share portfolio/samples with the application). Availability and willingness to travel within India up to 15% of the time. Efficient in using MS office and Google tools. Attention to detailDesirables: Experience working in a collaborative design environment; work experience in global teams is a plus. Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization. Ability to meet tight timelines. Experience working with media, public relations agencies, and event managers in the larger backdrop of a communications campaign.
