Job Summary: The Construction Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the construction store operations, including inventory management, customer service, staff supervision, and financial performance. This role requires strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the store.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
Monitor and maintain appropriate levels of construction materials, tools, and equipment to meet customer demands.
Implement inventory control procedures, including tracking, ordering, receiving, and stock rotation.
2. Customer Service:
Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product inquiries, recommendations, and problem-solving.
Address customer concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.
3. Staff Supervision:
Hire, train, and manage store employees.
Schedule and assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback.
Ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
4. Financial Management:
Develop and manage the store\'s budget, including sales targets, expenses, and profitability.
Implement pricing strategies to maximize revenue and margins.
5. Vendor Relations:
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
Monitor supplier performance and quality of products.
6. Store Operations:
Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
Monitor security measures to prevent theft or damage.
7. Compliance:
Ensure the store complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
8. Reporting:
Generate regular reports on sales, inventory, and other key performance indicators.
Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s degree in SCM, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in retail or construction store management.
Strong knowledge of construction materials and tools.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in inventory management software.
Financial acumen and budgeting experience.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Additional Information:
This position may require occasional weekend and evening work.
A valid driver\'s license and reliable transportation may be required.
Physical stamina to lift and move heavy items is essential.
