Reporting to : HOD nephrology, medical director, Unit Head, Consultants,
Reported by : Dialysis Technicians/CAPD Assistants/Physician assistants
Indirect Reporting: Nursing Staff/PRO/Housekeeping Staff
Qualification: MBBS fresher or with experience
Knowledge and skills:
Should have knowledge of current practices and guidelines in Medicine Basic knowledge of drugs used in emergencies and their doses

To work and coordinate with consultants in patient care
Responsibility:• Responsible for all inpatients of the institution
• To ensure safe & excellent patient care in the hospital
• To take history and examine new cases, assess them and make a reasonable diagnosis of the case, understanding the emergencies if present so as to give appropriate attention
• To inform the consultants of respective department so that any emergency cases are dealt with at the earliest possible
• To conduct few bed side procedures (like nasogastric tube insertion, pleural effusion tapping; assist in internal jugular vein catheter placements)
• To do ward rounds during their time and assess patients from time to time and record their progress.
• To take consents from the patients for various investigations.

• To identify patients in cases of arrest and activate code blue and perform basic life support and advanced cardiac life support
• To manage outpatients who visit emergency ward, send investigations and give symptomatic therapy; informing the respective consultants in the due course
• To give and take a proper handover of the cases in the wards so as to form a continuity in treatment
• To give adequate time to patients and their family members to ascertain that they understand what their condition is and what treatment is going on for them
• To be compassionate towards patients and follow medical ethics
• To be in good terms with fellow doctors, nurses, technicians and show adequate respect to senior colleagues
• To work in compliance with care, compassion and in compliance with the polices of the hospital
