To ensure energy conservation and operation and maintenance of plants and equipment preventive maintenance schedules, engineering maintenance requests and new work orders are performed and correctly recorded and to provide a monthly work plan to CE for approval.
EXECUTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES & EMPOWERMENT
To ensure each section of the Engineering is managed effectively, and results in maximizing productivity and quality of work.
Ensure the effective operations management of the engineering department by setting maintenance standards, implementing preventive maintenance programs for all engineering utilities and ensuring that performance of equipment are regularly monitored and reviewed. Responsible for the general complaints of maintenance, the preparation of equipment data sheets and spares requisitions for equipment failure and their implementation and submission to management.
To provide monthly work plan to DOE/CE for approval.
KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational:-
Report to CE on all aspects of engineering, environmental controls and the operational efficiency of the property.
To ensure adherence to all statutory regulations and fire codes by regularly reviewing policies and safety procedures. Ensure that any tests and inspections required on plant by statutory authorities are carried out as and when required and that all records and documentation associated with such tests and surveys are correctly kept and/or displayed. Ensure that the hotel fulfils all compliance requirements.
Ensure the effective operation of all the mechanical and electrical systems and equipment by implementing and managing a preventative maintenance program. Closely monitor the condition of the physical property and equipment by conducting continual inspections of the building. Ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are in operation and regularly upgraded.
Plans and implements a preventive maintenance program to try and achieve \xe2\x80\x9czero\xe2\x80\x9d defects for all equipment in the Hotel
Ensure that plant and equipments are correctly operated M & E plant and equipment to suit the needs of the hotel
Coordinates and assists management of hotel on internal campaign and activities of energy conservation programme.
Financial;-
Control of Capital Project Planning, in liaison with management, to ensure capital funding is effectively allocated and budgeted in accordance with company directives and philosophy.
Contribute to the hotel\'s profitability by ensuring the effective management of the buildings environmental controls and energy conservation systems. Evaluate, control and record energy usage and implement and upgrade energy conservation systems.
Ensure the cost effectiveness and technical efficiency of all services performed by outside contracts by close supervision. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with contracts, leases, services agreements and warranties.
Administration:-
To ensure preventive maintenance schedules are performed and correctly recorded.
To report to DOE/CE of any out of order equipment that will affect hotel operation.
To notify DOE/CE of any non-productive equipment use.
To ensure Engineering maintenance requests are performed and correctly recorded.
To report to DOE/CE of any maintenance requests that is more than 1 month outstanding.
To inspect daily all plant rooms, kitchens, service outlets and record any defects for rectification
To ensure new work orders that have been approved by DOE are performed and correctly recorded
Employee Handling:-
Ensure a technically competent engineering staff by selecting, training and developing a motivated, well-qualified maintenance team. Carry out regular work sampling studies within the department and evaluate the performance and productivity of personnel.
Provides training of all department staff to ensure efficient operation, proper maintenance and repair to equipments as well as good morale
Prepares monthly training schedule for the department as per need of staff members and monitors their progress
To acquire and put into practice the multi-skilling in the engineering staff.
To notify the DOE/CE of any breach of the hotel\'s employee rules and regulations.
Works with Human Resources on manpower planning and management needs
