The Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting passengers, goods, or equipment to designated destinations. This role requires a professional, courteous attitude, a clean driving record, and excellent knowledge of local roads, traffic regulations, and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Transportation: Safely transport passengers or goods to assigned locations, ensuring timely arrivals.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking oil, tire pressure, and fuel levels. Report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
• Route Planning: Plan the most efficient and safe routes to destinations, adjusting for traffic and road conditions.
• Safety: Ensure the safety of passengers and cargo by adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of trips, including mileage, time of departure, arrival, and any incidents that may occur.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service when interacting with passengers or clients, including assistance with luggage or loading/unloading goods.
• Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods, materials, or equipment as required by the job.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, including local, state, and federal laws.
• Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of the vehicle before and after trips, ensuring it is clean, fueled, and in good working condition.
• Communication: Stay in constant communication with the dispatch team or management to receive updated directions or changes in schedules.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Experience: Previous driving experience (professional or personal) preferred.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with local roads, traffic laws, and safety protocols.
• Customer Service Skills: Ability to interact courteously and professionally with clients and passengers.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to load/unload goods and lift heavy items as required.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to handle unforeseen situations, such as delays or vehicle malfunctions, effectively.
• Time Management: Ability to manage schedules and prioritize trips to ensure punctuality.
• Basic Vehicle Maintenance Skills : Knowledge of basic vehicle care, such as checking fluids, changing tires, and keeping the vehicle clean.
Work Environment:
• Typically based in a vehicle for most of the workday.
• May involve long hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overnight trips.
• Occasionally exposed to weather elements or hazardous driving conditions.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
• Ability to lift heavy items when necessary.
• Capable of performing inspections and maintenance tasks that may require bending, stooping, or reaching.
