Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Civil Draftsman with at least 5 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in preparing detailed civil engineering drawings, collaborating with engineers, and ensuring that designs are accurate, compliant with regulations, and ready for construction. The Civil Draftsman will play a key role in translating conceptual designs into detailed construction plans and drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting and Design Support :
• Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings, blueprints, and plans for infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, foundations, grading, and utilities.
• Collaborate with civil engineers and project managers to understand design requirements and ensure accuracy in drawings.
• Modify and revise designs based on feedback and changes during the design and construction phases.
• Ensure that designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.
• 3D Modeling and Visualization :
• Use advanced CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) to create detailed 2D and 3D models of civil infrastructure projects.
• Prepare site layouts, cross-sections, and profiles to assist engineers in visualizing the project.
• Documentation and Quality Control :
• Maintain organized and accurate records of all drafts, revisions, and technical specifications.
• Ensure the consistency and quality of drawings through internal reviews and checks.
• Generate and update design documentation, including specifications, materials lists, and reports.
• Collaboration and Coordination :
• Work closely with engineers, architects, and other project team members to ensure that designs align with project goals and are feasible for construction.
• Assist in the preparation of tender packages, including detailed drawings and specifications for contractors.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance with permits and approvals.
• Site Visits and Fieldwork :
• Conduct site visits to collect data, verify measurements, and ensure that drawings reflect actual conditions.
• Work with construction teams to resolve any discrepancies between the design and site conditions during the construction phase.
• Continuous Improvement :
• Stay updated with advancements in drafting technology, software, and civil engineering practices.
• Assist in the development and improvement of drafting processes and standards within the firm.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Education :
• Associate's degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
• Experience :
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Civil Draftsman or similar role in the civil engineering or construction industry.
• Technical Skills :
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other related design software.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, design practices, and construction standards.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling and visualization tools.
• Attention to Detail :
• High level of accuracy in preparing, reviewing, and revising technical drawings.
• Ability to identify and resolve inconsistencies or issues in designs.
• Communication Skills :
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with project teams, clients, and contractors.
• Problem-Solving Skills :
• Ability to analyze complex designs and find efficient solutions to drafting challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of structural, environmental, and geotechnical engineering concepts.
• Experience with other software such as Revit, Micro Station, or GIS tools.
• Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and construction methods.
• Experience in working with survey data, including topographical surveys.
