Job Overview: As an Electrical Draftsman, you will play a crucial role in supporting the electrical engineering team by creating detailed technical drawings, plans, and schematics for electrical systems and equipment. Your role will involve translating engineering designs and specifications into accurate and precise drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Responsibilities:
Drawing Creation:
Develop detailed technical drawings, plans, and schematics for electrical systems and equipment, including power distribution, control panels, wiring diagrams, and lighting layouts.
Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or Revit, to generate 2D and 3D drawings that accurately depict dimensions, materials, and assembly processes.
Incorporate drafting standards, symbols, and conventions to ensure consistency and clarity in drawings, and include necessary annotations, labels, and dimensions.
Design Support:
Collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and project managers to translate conceptual designs and ideas into detailed drawings and technical documentation.
Review and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications to accurately represent design intent and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Assist in the preparation of design documentation, including assembly instructions, parts lists, and material specifications, to support construction, installation, and procurement activities.
Document Management:
Organize and maintain a library of drawings, blueprints, and technical documents related to electrical projects, ensuring they are accurately labeled, indexed, and version-controlled for easy retrieval and reference.
Manage drawing revisions, updates, and revisions, and coordinate with project teams to ensure that drawings reflect the latest design changes and modifications.
Assist in the preparation of project reports, presentations, and deliverables by providing accurate and up-to-date drawings and graphics as needed.
Quality Control:
Conduct quality checks and reviews of drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with drafting standards, codes, and regulations.
Collaborate with engineers and designers to address feedback, resolve discrepancies, and ensure that drawings meet project requirements and objectives.
Participate in design review meetings and coordination sessions to identify and resolve design conflicts and coordination issues.
Technical Support:
Provide technical support and assistance to project teams, contractors, and vendors by clarifying drawing details, answering questions, and resolving issues related to design and construction activities.
Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot technical problems, optimize drafting workflows, and improve efficiency in drawing production and documentation processes.
Requirements
A minimum of 8 years of experience in AutoCAD and REVIT (electrical works for pumping stations and treatment plants).
